  5. Jack Nicklaus, one of the greatest golfers of all time was born in Columbus. When Nicklaus won the Masters in 1986, he raised his total of major championship wins to 18, far more than any other player.
  6. Columbus lies along the banks of the Scioto River. It is the 15th largest city in the United States and one of the fastest growing.
  7. Topiary Garden, a unique downtown attraction, reproduces Georges Seurat's post-impressionistic painting "A Sunday Afternoon on the Island of La Grande Jatte." Big Deal? The reproductions are done in topiary figures – some up to 12 feet tall! It is the only exhibit of this type in the world!
