DOWNTOWN. Should you just want to kick back for a while, enjoy a good beer, and hang out with friends, this establisment stands ready to welcome. Applauded for its comfortable atmosphere and wonderful cuisine, Gaffer Grille offers Victorian style and decorative nods to Corning's glassmaking industry. The menu features customary grill fare, complete with steaks, seafood, pastas, and chicken. In the Tap Room, which is ideal for late-night dining, you'll find a full bar and cozy environs.

DOWNTOWN. First things first...the phrase "glory hole" refers to an opening in a furnace that allows glass to be reheated and its appearance refined. It's an apt name, considering that this pub pays tribute to Corning's lucrative, long-lived glass industry. The relaxed neighborhood place has a great selection of draft beers (international and regional), and it features live entertainment each week. You'll also find a tasty menu of bar food, perfect for reinvigorating you during a day of sightseeing or just fortifying you for a fun night ahead.

DOWNTOWN. For a dose of local flavor, check out this Irish-themed bar, whose interior isn't incredibly elaborate but which attracts folks with an eye out for a beer and some great live music. Bands and performers take the stage Friday and Saturday evenings and on some Wednesdays. When they're not around, count on the jukebox to carry the night. Other pastimes include pool and darts. If sustenance is in order, the bar food menu features sandwiches, burgers, wraps, and pizza.

DOWNTOWN. A town favorite, this microbrewery and restaurant occupies a revamped garage and makes a terrific destination for tasty American fare and local beers. An attractive staff serves a variety of draft brews, including a popular blackberry lager, a red ale, and a dark ale. You can enjoy them inside or in the outdoor beer garden. Soups, sandwiches, and salads cater to light eaters, while dinner entrees range from beef tenderloin tournedos to fish-and-chips and Santa Fe pasta.
