NORTH BEACH.   Maintained by the city, this public beach on Corpus Christi Bay offers a welcome escape from the bustle and traffic of modern life. Calm, clear waters and wide, sandy beaches make Corpus Christi Beach a popular afternoon getaway for families staying in bayfront or downtown hotels. Bathhouses, restroom facilities, cabanas, and picnic shelters are available, and the area is popular with anglers wanting to fish from the shore and with birdwatchers who don't mind rising early.
