Covina Guide » More About Covina: Overview
Overview
Although Covina started out as a community based around citrus-growing, today it's primarily considered a bedroom community of Los Angeles, with several freeways just outside the city limits. Located about 22 miles from the City of Angels, Covina may be familiar to some people as the location where television series such as Roswell and Knight Rider were filmed. Its sister city is Jalapa, Mexico – near the Covina police station is a giant Olmec-style statue given to the city in 1989 by its counterpart in Mexico. Coming in at just about seven square miles, the city is mostly comprised of residential neighborhoods, but the downtown area is picturesque and has several unique shops and restaurants.
