About Dallas Attractions & Activities
Whether enjoying a visit to the historic Fort Worth Stockyards or catching championship bull riding at the Mesquite Rodeo, the Dallas area provides plenty of activities to keep you busy. The former Book Depository in Dealey Plaza, for example, is home to the Sixth Floor Museum which chronicles the events leading up to John F. Kennedys assassination. Always popular with visitors, the West End is a historic warehouse district that now features over 100 shops and restaurants. Fair Park, a historical landmark and site of the Texas State Fair, includes a wealth of interesting activities, from the Dallas Aquarium to the countrys largest collection of Art Deco buildings. Located on the eastern shore of White Rock Lake, the Dallas Arboretum lures the public with a unique collection of rare Chinese azaleas. For cultural activities, visit the Dallas Museum of Art, where works by Monet, Georgia OKeeffe and Jackson Pollock are on display. Also outstanding, the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth houses everything from pre-Columbian artifacts to 20th-century European paintings. -- Joseph K. Hall Jr., 10Best Editor
