Greeted by the gruff and friendly doorman, I entered the dark inner regions of the front room of Club Dada to a brilliant smile from the bartender and one of the best kamikaze shots I've been able to find in Dallas. The band was loud, the bar was crowded, and the high energy had everyone hopping and flirting and enjoying the night. Searching for a less-crowded bathroom, I wandered into Dada's "next door" to find lush, red- and black-vinyl couches, tables and chairs and a second restroom! Yes, two restrooms, clean and spacious. Wow. The music was muted, but could still be heard through the thick brick walls between the two rooms. A few people lounged on the couches and chairs where they were able to talk without shouting over the heavy thump of the band. On the night I visited, the back patio was being used by just a few people who wanted to escape the adrenaline-inducing music from inside. Couples and groups were scattered throughout the wrought-iron tables or sitting on the tiered wooden benches. The occasional barmaid kept the glasses full, and it was a beautiful respite for a moment, but I wanted to get back in to the crowd and the music and more great drinks! Thanks, Dada -- I'll be back!
