About Dallas Restaurants
The Dallas restaurant scene offers a wide variety of cuisines. Make no mistake, though: sizzling steaks and tender beef brisket are what made the city famous. That said, Bob's Steak & Chop House and Al Biernat's are top steakhouses, and Sonny Bryans serves up legendary beef brisket. Honoring its spicier roots, Dallas also has its share of tasty Tex-Mex eats at places like Deep Ellums Monica's Aca Y Alla and Cadillac Bar in the West End, an old warehouse quarter that's been remade into a trendy restaurant, club and retail district. If a foray into global cuisine is in order, the chic McKinney Avenue and Knox-Henderson areas are home to many of the city's best restaurants, including the Japanese Teppo and eclectic Abacus. Downtown and Greenville Avenue feature outstanding dining choices as well. Antares, on the 50th floor of Downtowns Reunion Tower, complements its own international menu with outstanding views of the city, and Greenville Avenue's Daddy Jack's Lobster & Chowder House prepares tantalizingly fresh fish and seafood. Other notable restaurants include the Mansion on Turtle Creek, Oak Lawn's Ciudad and smart, jazzy Perry's Uptown. -- Joseph K. Hall Jr., 10Best Editor
