UPTOWN.   A perfect antidote to restaurant boredom, Lola easily attracts discriminating diners who relish the restaurant's New American cuisine. Jerusalem artichoke soup, braised rabbit, and crab cannelloni punctuate the menu, and prix fixe meals deliver wonderful food in two to four courses. For the utmost culinary pleasure, give yourself over to an evening in Lola's tasting room. There, 10-course meals showcase "petite portions" of the chef's greatest delicacies – with wine pairings, if you choose. The impressive wine list (the owner's hobby) boasts more than 2000 selections from around the world.   (© 10Best)

My husband and I were going to have dinner at Lola's on New Year's Eve, but when my mother-in-law had to be taken to the emergency room, we placed a call an hour or so ahead of our reservation to make them aware we would not be able to attend our dinner. The person on the other end of the phone at Lola's (a male voice) kept interrupting my husband, as he tried to explain our situation, but again again the person at the other end of the phone kept cutting him off, and without any notice hung up the phone. We were strunned to say the least, and could not believe anyone at Lola's would be so rude. Over the last couple of years customer service seems to have slowly declined. The wait staff is very friendly, professional and upbeat. The matre'di is less than friendly, and perhaps needs a refresher course about customer service with a smile. Unfortunately, because of our experience and declining customer service from this establishment, we will be looking for another new restaurant who will appreciate our business.

I give Lola 3.5 stars. It was pretty good, but not incredible. The only memorable dish was the asparagus. My husband and I went there for our anniversary and I was slightly dissapointed after seeing Lola top so many best restaurant lists. There were very few other diners and yet, the host seated us all crammed together at one end of the room. The waitstaff was attentive, knowledgable and friendly. I would return there for a nice lunch, but not a special occasion.
