GREENVILLE AVENUE. Considered a Dallas institution, Campisi's Egyptian has been satisfying Dallas appetites for nearly 50 years. First known as the Egyptian Lounge, this local favorite decided to tack on "Campisi" name and start serving up classic Roman cuisine. Dining options include thin-crust pizza and traditional pasta dishes. The ambiance is lively, but the decor is dark. Reservations accepted for parties of six or more.

UPTOWN. Whereas John Keats' west wind brought poetic inspiration, plush East Wind delivers divinely inspired cuisine like grilled Chilean sea bass topped with julienned ginger or sautéed black tiger shrimp with spicy red crabmeat sauce. Located a few strides off McKinney Avenue in the Quadrangle, the restaurant is convenient to downtown, and its white linens, fresh flowers, candles, and contemporary art are sure to make a good impression on business clients or that special someone. Reasonable prices are also appealing.

WEST LOVERS LANE. This international restaurant is a romantic spot to be sure, but don't let the French name throw you off: Spanish cuisine is the specialty. In fact, Rouge promises an impeccable experience, from wines produced in La Mancha and Rioja to outstanding dishes like salmon stuffed with avocados, paella Valenciana, and hot and cold tapas (tuna ceviche or beer-battered monkfish, for example). The plush space, punctuated by crimson and gold tones, also sports perimeter tables with high, velvet headboards.

ADDISON. Few restaurants can compete with the atmosphere – and, yes, the cuisine – of this colorful chain of Brazilian-style churrascarias. A family-friendly ambience pervades as diners enjoy a feast for the ages, one that features gaucho-wearing servers circling the South American-themed dining room with mouthwatering skewers of seasoned beef, chicken, lamb, pork, and Brazilian sausage. Just pick what you want, and they're happy to serve it up. Added temptations are Texas-sized side dishes like garlic mashed potatoes and sweet fried bananas, and the extravagant salad bar has been known to turn heads as well.
