LOVE the Blue Mesa, a Southwestern/New Mexican cuisine spot!
Our family loves the Blue Mesa Grill! We visit the Addision location often, especially on brunch days, for family celebrations. Favorites include the blue corn enchiladas, the adobe pie (a sweetened cornbread confection that's better than dessert!), and the "sticks" (we can't spell chiroscurras . . . whatever they are) of grilled meat and veggies. I go for the wonderful sweet potato chips--they are out of the world great! The blue corn chips are cool, too. We always get the made-at-table guacamole. The error made in most other reviews is to call this "Tex-Mex" or even Mexican food. It is New Mexican/Southwestern, not at all like Tex-Mex and not much like Mexican from Mexico, but a variation on the theme brought to this country and modified in the melting pot (which has, alas, all but disappeared nowadays in the Our Own Separate Type Of American Culture wars--but I digress.) It's like Annie's Santa Fe used to be, if anyone remembers that, but not as hot and spicy. Frankly, this is the place we like to bring clients from out of town. The decor is wonderful but casual. We can wholeheartedly recommend it. In fact, today is our silver wedding anniversary, and we're headed out for a celebration. Wish us luck and fun (and a calorie-free meal, ha!)

Good food, great service
I'm used to really authentic mexican cuisine, this restaurant is a nice night out, and a change from the norm. I would probably classify this as mexican food with a brazilian twist. GREAT service. The selections seemed a bit limited to me and the menu was lacking hot and spicy dishes which one would normally expect from a Tex-mex restaurant. All in all my dinner was good, but I have had better. A major turn off was the soggy over-cooked sweet potato chips that are served with your tortilla chips.

I visited Dallas the summer of 2003. My friend who lives there took me to eat lunch there and it was the absolute best. It was very fresh and unique. I love southwestern food having lived in both Texas and New Mexico. I can still taste the great food. Can't wait to go back for more.
