DENTON. UNT forms a symbiotic relationship with Denton: one could not exist without the other, and jointly, they create a truly special environment. Founded in 1890, UNT is highly regarded nationally for its research contributions. It also boasts an enrollment close to 30,000, and students take advantage of such extracurricular activities as joining the Greek system, participating in intramural sports, or being involved in student government. Other sources of pride are a terrific fine arts program and exciting sports-related activities – Mean Green teams compete on the NCAA 1-A level.
