HIGHLANDS. Over the last ten years, the neighborhood surrounding the intersection at 32nd and Lowell Streets has grown into a hub for art, clothing and cuisine. Pick up some funky accessory or object (likely pink) at Starlet, or hunt for your favorite literary masterpieces in West Side Books. If you're thinking of parking on side streets, be aware of signs indicating that the spaces are for local permits only. Individual business hours vary.

CURTIS PARK. What could be better than $10 bottomless Mimosas or Bloody Marys for Sunday brunch? $10 Kivarittas! Kiva is a new restaurant in the Curtis Park neighborhood. Southwestern food gets the five-star treatment in this warm, cozy eatery, which comes complete with two patios and plenty of meeting space. Not an early riser? ALAMO PLACITA. Presenting the best in independent film, this theater from the 1930s is a work of art in itself. Built in Art Deco Mayan Revival style, it's a wonder of design and spectacle, especially after a multi-million-dollar renovation. Offering three screens (including a large auditorium on the main floor), the Mayan also hosts a café and bar. After your movie, take a calm stroll through the Baker neighborhood, or grab a late-night snack at one of the many restaurants on Broadway.

COMMONS PARK. Join the locals at one of the oldest and best restaurants in North Denver. Patsy's features southern Italian cuisine in an intimate setting. Offering a good wine list, prompt service, and affordable prices, it also makes a perfect setting for a romantic dinner. A menu must-have is homemade noodles, but save room for dessert. The spumoni alone is worth a visit!

UPTOWN. When the drip coffee is good, you know the cappuccino will be great. St. Mark's is a long-time fixture of the City Park neighborhood and is a favorite of Denverites from all over the city. The place has an added perk in the form of the Ubisububi Room, whose intimate setting invites patrons to enjoy live acoustic music. WiFi is available, and a dog-friendly patio is open during the summer. If you're planning to go on weekend evenings, get there early, or you may have to wait for a seat.

UPTOWN. A comfortable distance from the crowded LoDo bar scene, The Loft features two floors of music, hip atmosphere, and a fun, friendly clientele. The sleek, curving space is decidedly upscale, and upstairs is more urban while downstairs is given over to enveloping sound. The dress code limits jersey-style shirts, baseball hats and tennis shoes, so dress to impress. Go with a group or a few close friends – either way, you'll end up dancing the night away.

After roughly an hour's drive from Denver, you'll find this beautiful mountain town with something for everyone. Well worth the excursion, a visit to Nederland means hiking, biking, back country ski trails, and fishing the Baker Reservoir. After a day of sporting, relax on the deck of the Wild Mountain Smokehouse and sip a crisp, freshly brewed Mountain Siren Cherry Wheat. A great getaway from the city and a chance to see what small-town mountain life is all about!

WASHINGTON PARK. Boasting two lakes, "Wash" Park ranks as one of the biggest of Denver's 250 parks. When the weather's nice, enjoy its beautiful flower beds, take advantage of a large playground, or join in on a pick-up basketball game. The rec center offers resistance and cardio equipment and is open year-round. Dogs are welcome in the park, but leashes are required (and pit bulls are not permitted within the city limits).

As your train departs the station or your plane leaves the ground, have you ever wanted just a little more time? One more day to explore further or to visit a place you didn't get wind of until the last minute? We'll let you know what's worth returning for, be it a little-known museum, a rambunctious dance club, or a peaceful garden. That way, you can avoid having to say, "Next time..."
