5. Mezcal

I ate at mezcal today, and was VERY disgusted. When I came in we sat at the bar, there were crumbs and salsa, all over the counter. We asked for menus, they were covered in salsa. We decided on the chips ans salsa, bad choice, there was a hair in it. I ordered a marg with good tequila, the lime juice tasted old. this whole time the bartender never wiped off the counter. my friend and I decided to skip getting a meal, since we know if the counter's dirty, so is the kitchen. i will never go back!

I have attempted to have a pleasant experience at mezcal numerous times and EVERY SINGLE TIME it is a disaster. One time my friend had a margarita that tasted like dish soap. Getting ahold of the wait staff is a joke. My final and LAST attempt...waited 10 minutes for a hostess then got seated and NEVER got waited on. My friend and I waited 15 minutes at the table before leaning over to the table next to us to ask how long they had been waiting. The answer? a Half hour. Uncalled for.

I had friends from all over CO come to this restaurant for my birthday. It was recommended by another friend. It was the absolute worst restaurant experience ever!! My friends still give me a hard time for choosing that place. To start off the service was TERRIBLE. We had the worst waitress on the planet. EVER! The food was ok. Not exceptional, mediocre. The drinks have been hyped up. I could have made a better margarita at home. The only good thing about this place was the building. It has old Denver charm.

We waited forever for a table, a server, and food. The margaritas were watered down. The food made Taco Bell look good. The ONLY thing good: salsa verde.
