4. Woodward Dream Cruise

The Buzz -- This late-summer favorite gives more than 1½ million amateur and professional car junkies their annual fixes. Featuring more than 30,000 collector, custom, muscle, and street cars lined up for 16 miles, Dream Cruise takes riders down Woodward Avenue from Ferndale to Pontiac. Along the way, the communities of Berkley, Birmingham, Huntington Woods, Pleasant Ridge, and Royal Oak join in the fun by featuring live music, street parties, swap meets, and all the food you could ever want. The public is encouraged to use free public transport (SMART buses) to enjoy the event.
