6. Arab & Chaldean Festival

The Buzz -- Chaldeans are Catholics descended from the people who once lived in the area now known as Iraq. This festival celebrates their culture and that of Arabs in general. The lively weekend event brings the sights, sounds, and tastes of the Middle East to Detroit in food, entertainment, cultural exhibits, a children's fair, and more. The festival has been a community event since 1972.
