Travel the underground tunnel to the 56 room stone mansion built in 1915, appointed with elaborate carved woodwork and many personal artifacts. Henry Ford Museum & Greenfield Village America's largest indoor/outdoor museum celebrates the spirit of invention. The 12 acre Henry Ford Museum features world-renowned treasures such as the limousine in which President John F. Kennedy was assassinated, Edgar Allan Poe's writing desk, and George Washington's camp bed. While Henry Ford Museum will remain open, Greenfield Village will begin its infrastructure upgrade this September and will be closed through May, 2003. However, this summer's Hometown Celebration in the village will go on as scheduled with a brand-new daily vaudeville variety show, the new Sounds of America gallery, and an exciting base ball schedule featuring the Lah-De-Dahs. New Imax Theatre open daily.
