Wow, we loved it here
We've lived in Royal Oak for 10 years and came across D'Amato's before going to the theatre. We're so glad we did, because it's now our favorite restaurant around. And...it's close.
We sat at a nice table with cozy wicker chairs and tried a bottle of wine, a delicious Spanish tempranillo. Our waiter suggested it and he hit the nail right on the head.
My husband and I split the crab cake appetizer, topped with a sunny side egg....delicious.
We shared the green salad, complete with green beans, asparagus, and prosciutto. The kicker was the white truffle vinaigrette, which I've never tried...now I want it again and again.
For dinner we tried a special, the wreck bass with peas and pancetta, amazing.
My husband had the spinach ricotta gnocchis. I'm generally not a fan of gnocchis, but these were light, full of flavor, and delightful.
Save room for the caramel apple donuts with cinnamon marscarpone. You'll be happy you did!
It's nice to discover restaurants and it's nicer when they turn out to be comfortable, memorable, and scrumptious!
Well done guys!!
