DOWNTOWN. Distinguished by golden-hued walls and dark wood columns, this upscale eatery was created with the city's downtown professionals in mind. Intended to give them an early-morning venue for meeting and networking, it's also proven popular with folks of all ilks. Breakfast is served all day, and eggs Benedict variations are the runaway hit, especially the version with crab cakes. Cheese grits, DBH&G's take on the venerable chicken-and-waffles classic, stuffed French toast, and frittatas are also prime culinary terrain. Lunchtime fare is available as well.

ROYAL OAK. Within a wide-open space peppered with pendant lights, diners are treated to the seasonal cuisine that is Fiddleheads' passion. While that means that the menu is constantly involving, it also means dishes like braised lamb shank, a spice-rubbed pork chop with pomegranate jus, seared diver scallops enlivened with fennel and Kalamata olives, and a classic roasted chicken. Brunch features gourmet salads and sandwiches, along with luscious omelets, eggs and applewood-smoked bacon, potato pancakes with smoked salmon, housemade corned beef hash, and eggs benedict. Brunch is seasonal and not typically offered during the summer.

DOWNTOWN. Get ready for the prospect of communal dining, the din of conversation, and amazing food at this casual eatery. Fresh ingredients go into each dish, and the selection of soups and omelets changes regularly as proof. Vegetables from the market show up in both, and everything is perfectly prepared and delicious. Hash browns are great, the reuben sandwich is hefty, and the potato-leek soup is rich and flavorful. While lines are often standard on Saturday, weekday lunches are also fantastic and not as wait-intensive.
