3. Japanisches Palais

Royal interest in Japanese style and culture is evident in this lovely palace that stands across the river from the old city. The palace was completed in 1715 and housed royal art and porcelain collections. The unique mix of late baroque and classical architecture is an excellent example of regional design. Today, the palace houses three museums: ethnology, natural history and archaeology.   (© 10Best)
