8. Schloss Pillnitz

PILLNITZ.   This grandiose castle was once the summer estate of Saxon princes, kings and their families. Built in the early 18th century by ruler Augustus the Strong, who later ruled Poland, the castle now houses the Museum of Decorative Arts and features an impressive garden. The Schloss Pillnitz exemplifies the style and unmatched riches enjoyed by German royalty prior to the 20th century.   (© 10Best)
