This gold-plated statue of King Augustus the Strong stands on the street named for the king across the Elbe from the old city. The king is depicted sitting atop his favorite horse in this statue, which was strategically placed to face Poland, the country Augustus also ruled. Excellent photo opportunity. (© 10Best)
