This elegant restaurant presents modern, Irish-style cuisine in a formal home atmosphere. Located down a flight of stairs beneath the Dublin Writer's Museum in a restored 18th-century building. Chapter One attracts intellectuals and writing enthusiasts, as well as gourmands seeking dishes such as warm terrine of duck confit, fois gras, ravioli with salmon and prawn, or sautéed scallops with parisienne potatoes. A courtyard patio allows outdoor dining when weather permits. Reservations recommended. Business dressy attire.

Well worth it's Michelin Star rating - A MUST Visit!
You won't be creating any of the dishes you're likely to be served at this top class restaurant unless you're an extremely accomplished chef. The choice of ingredients for all dishes are innovative and exciting to the palate. In Oct 09 the pre-theatre meu was eur37 for 3 courses and worth every penny. Service is also top class.

The service was excellent bordering on exceptional and food of a high standard except for the seafood which was past its ell by date. The pricing is expensive but not unreasonable. We had some issues on the accuracy of the bill which was resolved very speedily.
