This charming Victorian home, which is situated on a scenic wooded estate, was built for the Stewart family in 1856. In 1977, the family donated the house and their extensive collection of Victorian and Edwardian costumes to the National Museums of Scotland. The collection ranges from the 1850's to the 1950's. In addition to this collection, the rooms are adorned with period furnishings, art, and accessories. Located 11 kilometers (seven miles) south of Dumfries.
