4. Drumlanrig Castle

Listed on the Historic House Association register, this rose-colored, natural stone castle, which dates back to 1680, is a bastion of relics. The house, built for the Duke of Buccleuch and Queensberry, displays various artworks, including pieces by Rembrandt and da Vinci.
