9. Eno River State Park

Located northwest of Durham, attractions at Eno River State Park include, canoeing, hiking, fishing and camping. This wonderfully preserved large park has 21 miles of hiking trails. The park also has group campsites for those wanting to camp out along the river. Be sure to make reservations in advance though. This Durham park is the perfect escape for city-life and may just provide the peace and quiet you need.   (© 10Best)
