Learn about the Chippewa Valley's indigenous people (Ojibwe) and its first European homesteaders at this award-winning facility. Prize exhibits include the circa-1860 Anderson Log House that once stood some 15 miles outside of modern eau Claire, the historic Sunnyview School (1882), a working old-fashioned ice-cream parlor, and a unique collection of Gillette/Uniroyal items that chronicle the history of the company that was once Eau Claire's largest single employer. After touring the museum, take the time to do a little exploring around Carson Park, which features the Paul Bunyan Camp and is surrounded by scenic Half Moon Lake.
