Surrounded by the crescent-shaped Half Moon Lake, Carson Park is one of the Eau Claire area's most popular places to "get away from it all," boasting lakeside picnic shelters, water access, hiking trails, and quiet little nooks with nice views. The park is also a hub for active pursuits, boasting bike trails, volleyball courts, softball diamonds, and tennis courts. In the summer, Eau Claire's beloved Minor League affiliate, the Cavaliers, takes the field at the park's historic baseball stadium, where Hammerin' Hank Aaron got his first minor league hit in 1952 (a bronze statue outside the stadium honors the all-time homerun king). Carson Park is also home to the Chippewa Valley Museum and Paul Bunyan Logging Camp.   (© 10Best)
