4. Downtown Chippewa Falls

CHIPPEWA FALLS.   This charming downtown area, located about 30 minutes' drive north of Eau Claire, dates back to the mid-19th century, and many of its old brick storefronts look to have changed little over the last 100 years or so. The busy streets are lined with black lampposts that are, in turn, hung with baskets of flowers or seasonal decorations, giving Chippewa Falls that warm and inviting air that helped it earn recognition as a "Great American Small Town." Indeed, folks come from far and wide to spend their afternoons visiting the town's specialty shops and area attractions like the Leinenkugel Brewery or Cook-Rutledge Mansion.   (© 10Best)
