6. Mercat Cross

This cross now stands where the former cross dating to 1365 once stood. In the past, this was the spot where traders would meet to do business with merchants. Additional historic events that took place in this area include the hanging of General Montrose from the 17th century. Declarations of Kings and Queens still take place here today.   (© 10Best)
