4. Jack's Grill

Although the term "grill" evokes images of fried burgers and tuna melts, Jack's is a far cry from that characterization. Although not pretentious, the restaurant has a cuisine that absolutely exceeds run-of-the-mill food. The kitchen takes advantage of the season's fresh ingredients, crafting flavorful, well-balanced meals from regional meats and produce. You're likely to find pheasant, Alberta beef, grilled duck, bison and roast lamb. Chicken and seafood are also available, and everything comes with comfort-food sides, like garlic mashed potatoes or butternut squash risotto. Desserts are as good as you'd expect, and the wine list is substantial as well. A long-time favorite and still going strong.   (© 10Best)
