7. Normand's

This terrific establishment has been a city favorite for years, and it's easy to see why. The cuisine is impeccable, as any diner will attest. It features Alberta game with French sauces and culinary techniques. The combination is sublime. Perfectly-cooked venison, pork in a Calvados-laced sauce, buffalo drizzled with a reduction of honey, whiskey and peppercorns – they're all incredible. You'll also swoon over ostrich, rabbit, scallops or lobster in a dijon-cream sauce. Desserts are also fantastic. Look only to the chocolate raspberry truffle torte or a well-made creme caramel for proof. A good wine list and attentive service only add to the appeal.   (© 10Best)
