7. La Tapa Restaurante

In the bitter chill of an Edmonton winter, you may find yourself dreaming of faraway lands where the sun always shines and the temperature never dips below freezing. But, of course, you probably can't simply hop on a plane and hightail it to the Mediterranean. You can, however, hop on a bus (or taxi, or whatever!) and get yourself down to La Tapa where, with a little imagination, the snowy sidewalks outside will melt away to sun-drenched plazas. The idea is to linger over a couple of cold beers or some sangria, along with several attractive little plates of tender seafood, bright marinated veggies, salty olives and deep fried bits of potatoes or cheese. Eventually, the winter blues will dissipate, for a significantly lower outlay than a plane ticket to Spain.   (© 10Best)
