4. Four Rooms

I can't believe that Meagan37's review is the only review on here, and cannot let it stand. It's unfortunate that she had a bad experience, but her opinion does not reflect the truth about the restaurant. The food at four rooms is unbelievable. It may be that my palate is just perfectly aligned with their Chef's, but his creations are of a caliber that is difficult to find at this price point. They have a good selection of wine, knowledgeable and friendly staff, and great jazz. I have never had a bad experience, nor heard of anybody having a bad experience, (until Megan37) and I am a frequent patron. It is the best dining experience you will find in edmonton for the price, and in fact is reminiscent of a much more expensive restaurant.

I saw this restaurant on the way to work and from the outside I was intrigued, it looked like a nice enough place and I'm always up for something new. After my time there I was surprised that such an awful restaurant would be located in such a high traffic area of downtown Edmonton!!! I eat out often but I have never encountered such horrible service, this coming from an ex-server who does understand that mistakes are bound to happen and that people do have bad days. The difference between this and what I expierianced was the server wasn't apologetic in the least, she was rude, slow and seemed to forget everything we asked for, the worst was that it wasn't even busy!!!! It finally got to the point that I asked to speak to the manager who turned out to be a much more unpleasent expieriance then with the server! I have never felt so disrespected and talked down to in my life!!! (Which seems to be a popular opinion) When the food came out it was below average but I will say it was pretty inexpensive but no matter what the quality of food was it couldn't have been enough to make up for the way I was traeted. I would never go back or suggest this place to anyone! I would not be surprised if shutting down is in their near future, the only thing that keeps this place going is their location....I guess that's how they can get away with treating people like garbage.
