5. Haweli

Ask local residents, and most of them will opine that Haweli is Edmonton's best Indian restaurant. If you're not familiar with the cuisine, plan to visit here for the buffet lunch, when you'll find a huge variety of traditional dishes and you can sample to your heart's content. Consistent favorites are the lamb rogan josh, aloo gobi, and butter chicken; there are also plenty of choices for vegetarians, including saag paneer, aloo palak, bhindi, and channa masala. With its upscale atmosphere, long oak bar and tiled dance floor, Haweli also does a brisk business in private parties, so call ahead to make sure they're open.   (© 10Best)
