7. Las Cruces / Old Mesilla

Located 45 minutes northwest of El Paso you'll find the second largest city of New Mexico. This southwestern historic gem is surrounded by the rugged and beautiful Organ Mountains. There are many museums, monuments, shops and galleries to visit, but one of the most interesting attractions is Old Mesilla, an 1800s village where Billy the Kid was tried for murder.   (© 10Best)
