George's used to pretty sub-par, (think, greasy crabcakes and greasier wall treatment) but since recently changing hands, it has undergone a refreshing makeover, the food always tastes fresh and carefully prepared, and it has become my and my husband's "go-to" breakfast place, and for other meals when the schedule allows.

George's used to be mine and my wife's favorite Erie diner, by leaps and bounds. But the restaurant recently changed hands (May 2007), changed its menu, and even changed the look and feel of the place. The food is "okay", but certainly nothing special... a far cry from the former cuisine. Service was "lacking". Overall, the new George's has lost that "hometown diner" feel that made old George's such a gem in the Gem City.
