6. The Ship Inn

The Ship Inn is supposedly one of the favorite haunts of Sir Francis Drake. Indeed, he once remarked, "Next to my own ship, I do love that old inn in St. Martins Lane." Inside, you'll find a good bit of fishing and nautical instruments like tackle, maps, and the occasional rope. The menu includes traditional steak, steak and ale pie, ploughman's lunch, and Stilton mushrooms. The Ship is popular with both students and locals.   (© 10Best)
