6. Heritage Hjemkomst Interpretive Center

MOORHEAD.   Valhalla on the Red River? That's exactly what you'll find at this unique center, which chronicles the amazing adventures of Moorhead native Robert Asp and his "Hjemkomst," a hand-built, 76-foot replica of a Viking ship that saw its crew safely across the Atlantic in the early '80s. Exhibits include not only the famed ship but memorabilia and photos honoring Mr. Asp and the "Hjemkomst's" heady crew. Also on the premises is a replica of a Norwegian stave church and the Red River Valley Exhibit, which details the region's rich history.   (© 10Best)
