1. Historic Downtown

DOWNTOWN.   Fayetteville's downtown is experiencing a rebirth these days. New buildings are going up right alongside the renovated 19th century buildings that are being converted into restaurants, boutiques, and antique shops. At the heart of all the development are the gardens of Downtown Square, a traditional commons area where many public events are held each year. Among the more noteworthy sights downtown are the Old Post Office, the Old Washington County Courthouse and Jail, and the historic Walker-Stone House (the oldest home in Fayetteville).   (© 10Best)
