Occupying 85 pastoral acres, this lovely garden overlooks the Cape Fear River and Cross Creek. It offers nature trails and a wide variety of plants and wildflowers. There's also an amphitheater, formal gardens, an urban forest, and a charming gazebo. Ideal for quiet contemplation or taking in a measure of eastern North Carolina beauty.   (© 10Best)

A beautiful place to visit when the flowers are in bloom. Your imagination can run wild in one part of the park where normal sized items are made "giant size". Unfortunately, the park lies between two major routes and although you feel as though you are in the middle of nature, you can hear the rumble of cars. But remember, the first Saturday of each month is free! You can't beat that deal.
