Not Impressed
Recently I went to dinner at Bella Villa with a friend. I had heard rave reviews about the food. Frankly, I was not impressed. The spaghetti sauce was watery and bland, hardly authentic Italian in my book. I had the veal picata which was nothing to write home about. To top it off I had the tiramisu which my friend's daughter raves about. It was okay, but again nothing extraordinary. The only thing Bella Villa really has going for it is the fact that their food is reasonably priced. I will not go back.

Ok first I walked in and thought I walked in to Mcdonalds. The place screamed, fast food joint. But I decided to give it a try. I looked at the menu and was pleased. I ordered Seafood over Linguini with White wine sauce and my boyfriend ordered Peppers and Sausage over Linguini. I asked the waitress if I could sample the lentil soup. She then replied, " its canned soup, progressive brand". Im like.. um okayyy..I still wanted to taste it. Our ordered arrived and mine tasted like noodles in water. NO flavor at all. My boyfriend's tasted like it was canned and the sausage was mushy like they were processed. Our waitress was extremely busy and we were unable to let her know. When we went up to pay for our food the other waitress asked us how our food was and we told her and she just said "Hmm usually the white wine gives a wonderful flavor, hmm" and then took our money and that was it. We then left our untouched food and went some place else. We still paid.

Bella Villa is a great little date place instead of a crowded restaurant with a corporate feel. Bella Villa is quite nice and small but that adds to it's ambiance. Not much room, but great food! The authentic Italian cuisine is fresh and the portions are large. The sauces are fresh and light and always just right. Extensive selection of beers and delightful staff make this one of the Fayetteville natives favorite little restaurants. Ask for Sabrina and she'll make sure your experience is perfect.

We frequest this truely authentic Italian retaurant weekly. My wife and I love the fact that it is quaint & cozy and close to our home in Fayetteville. The food is authentic Italian with fresh sauces and spices and everything has a fresh taste. The prices are reasonable and the staff extremely attentive. The owner is usually there and she comes out to meet the guests to make sure that everything is just right. She might even delight you with a new appetizer as a teaser that you didn't expect! If you want a heavy corporate restaurant style meal, this ain't your place! Fresh and true to Italy is what you'll get here. Please ask the waitress what she may reccommend as different dishes on the extensive menu may be better than others depending on what they have in stock. It's a small place and they treally aim to please. We highly reccommend this as our "little Italian restaurant".

Absolutely AWFUL! The prices were extreme for the location and atmosphere. The sauces had a very strange and unpleasant after-taste, though the sauces themselves were without any Italian seasoning...I might as well have opened a can of plain tomato paste and added water. The veal was tough and small for the cost. We won't be going back. Definitely not reccomended.

I spent $23.00 at this awful restaurant for 2 meals. calamari meal, and linguine with alfredo sauce topped with shrimp. For $23.00 I was expecting at least medium sized shrimp. all I got was the tinest popcorn shimp I have ever seen. The sauce was too creamy and heavy. The calamari I counted 8 pieces. As a former restaurant owner I know that calamari is very cheap. How can they serve 8 little pieces and call that an adult sized serving. I ordered calamari several times before and this is the first that I was able to count how many pieces were in the order. I usually get so many that I can't count. Not only here in Fayetteville, but also in Seattle at the Wolfgang Puck cafe which serves the best fried calamari in curry ginger sauce and at Giovanni's in New york which serves tasty calamari as well. That calamari came with spagetti. That was the worse sauce that I have ever tasted on spagetti it must have come straight out of a can. I never called the restaurant back to voice my discontent with the order. I decided instead to post this message to warn all seafood and Italian food lovers to not waste their time and money eating at Bella Villa. It will no doubt be one of the worse eating experiences in your life.

With the exception of its small size (not necessarily a negative thing) and the relatively uncomfortable hard plastic booths, there's absolutely nothing to not just love about this cafe. The food is reasonably priced and it is the best Italian cuisine I've had outside of Italy itself. For the record, I'm just a patron and in no way connected to the cafe or its owners. Actually, you can call me a repeat patron. Highly recommended.
