The Barn
We enjoyed our meal there. The service was good, the atmosphere very nice...sort of an old fashioned roadhouse vibe. The prime rib could have been a little more tender but the salad, bread and sides were very good. I would try something different the next time.

I am not sure how The Barn got such a high rating. We ate there last week with friends and were very disappointed. I had a shrimp cocktail with a bland sauce, with 4 whole shrimp at a high cost. Then I had what was supposed to be Blackened Grouper, two small thin squares of a very salty fish, yes it really was in squares! My husband had escargot and a steak oscar which were fine. But the crowning touch was the Bananas Foster. A scoop of vanilla ice cream in a deep sundae dish with a little bit of bananas and syrup over the top, not too tasty. We will not return, even though the service was great for a large party. I give the server credit. I ordered Pinot Grigio which twice was sent back, because it was Pinot Noir a red white not a white, and the bartender thought it should be a red. Lots of room for improvement, even though it has been there for years

The other night my wife and I went to dinner at The Barn on Bragg.
We had dined there quite a few times in the past and both the food and service were excellent. Actually it was a favorite place for us and our friends when we wanted to dine out and didn’t much care how much it cost.
Well things sure have changed there. My wife ordered linguini with white clam sauce and I ordered crab stuffed shrimp. The linguini was drenched in some brownish, greasy sauce that defied description. The stuffed shrimp were tiny little things stuffed with crab tainted bread crumbs. My wife simply couldn’t choke down the pasta and asked that the meal be replaced. They sent her a fish platter with a few more of the tiny, cooked to death shrimp, crab tainted breadcrumb cakes and a small overcooked fish fillet of some sort. I decided, since I had lost my appetite anyway not to bother reordering anything else.
I called the owner over and told him how we felt. He was apologetic but still sent over our check. It was for$51.00, the full cost of the meals! I wrote him a letter, again expressing how we felt, which was never answered.
Needless to say neither I nor any of my friends will ever eat at The Barn again.
