A tantalizing assortment of pastries, muffins, and desserts, along with a variety of great coffees, makes Coffee Scene a terrific place for a quick respite from sightseeing. The place's two levels offer customary coffeehouse ambience, not to mention comfortable sofas and chairs. Open mic nights and poetry readings are among the evening activities offered. A favorite of the young professional crowd.

Be sure to check this place out on Sundays for Open Mic Night if you're into poetry, and sometimes a bit of amateur music. Local hosts Neil Ray and "Radar" are great... just don't let "Radar" hypnotize you with his interesting theme based "journeys into the mind" as I like to call them. Starts at 7ish... Some of the best entertainment on a Sunday night in a military town for the price of a cup of coffee.

This place is like an hour-old latte....I still like it and I'm still going to drink it, but it could definitely use a zap of heat. The staff seem pretty cool...tattooed, pierced, mildly rebellious...and the coffee is just okay, but the lingering smell of smoke and dusky atmosphere make it difficult to hang out in if you're not with your typical group of emo-head kids.
