FLAGSTAFF.   Immerse yourself in the culture and geology of northern Arizona at this fascinating museum. Boasting some five million items, the facility provides terrific windows into the state's prehistoric and Native American pasts. Examine handicrafts, fossil exhibits, fine art pieces, and displays on biology, botany, and anthropology. Permanent and temporary exhibits ensure there's always something new to browse, and a great gift shop sells all sorts of wonderful items to commemorate your trip to the Southwest.   (© 10Best)

frustrating
Visiting the Museum of Northern Arizona is frustrating. It houses an amazing array of native american artifacts, and archeological, and geological information, but so much that it is overwhelming. A little less would be more. I didn't get the "art gallery" of recent artists work. While the work was nice, I am still trying to figure out what it had to do with the other themes of the museum. Redeeming factors: Great information about the expanse of the Colorado Plateau. While interesting, I thought my time was better spent at the Pioneer Museum just back down the road toward town.
