2. Arizona Snow Bowl

FLAGSTAFF.   No matter what time of year you're around, Snowbowl offers outdoor activities galore. When there's snow on the ground, folks take to the slopes for downhill skiing and snowboarding, courtesy of a 2300-foot drop, 4 lifts, 32 trails, rental facilities, and skiing schools. When the weather's warm, the Skyride takes visitors to 11,500 feet, where they can see a panorama of northern Arizona, including the Grand Canyon's North Rim. Hiking is also available, and the lodge makes refreshments available as well. The affiliated Nordic Center caters to cross-country skiers and is open from December to April.   (© 10Best)
