8. Riordan Mansion State Historic Park

FLAGSTAFF.   Something of a "duplex" mansion, this Arts and Crafts-style home was the domain of two lumber magnate brothers who married two sisters. Their adjacent but separate homes were connected by a billiards room common to both structures. The beautiful homes feature many of the families' personal possessions, including Stickley furniture, a Steinway piano, and glass-printed photos of early Arizona. Guided tours provide informative details about the residence, and a visitors center offers additional exhibits. The grounds feature picnic tables and a self-guided tour.   (© 10Best)
