1. Black Barts Steakhouse

Was a truly awesome dining experience almost 20 years ago. Glad to see still in operation and will be stopping on way to California this summer.

I had the Top Sirloin for dinner and I would rate it as overpriced and average at best. It was dry and overcooked a little. My wife had the shrimp which she rates as definitely better than average as they are hand dipped in home made breading. You also get homemade biscuits and beans, which I don't eat but my wife rates as excellent. I was just disappointed in the steak seeing as how they call it a steakhouse I was expecting better. Especially for a 20+ dollar steak. The real plus for this place is the environment. Nice place inside, great big fire and lots of live singing put on by the college students. They all sang very well and overall I enjoyed the experience. It’s a unique place and I would recommend going there just because it is different from your average boring steakhouse. If you’re a tall or large make sure you get a round table and not the square ones or you’re going to have a rough time hitting the short tables with your thighs.
