6. Red Garter

I was one of the first women waitresses there in 1982. Before I came there were only men waiting on tables. We convinced the owner, Claudio, that we were just as good. Before convincing him, I worked washing dishes in the back. It was great fun serving beer and peanuts to all the Americans, Canadians and Australians and being told how great my English was! Born in Michigan I should hope so.

You have to understand I was hanging out there in 1977 and it was great then don’t know about now but if its survived all these years it must still be pretty darn good.. ciao

I lived just around the corner from the Red Garter and it was a great place to meet people from all over. The owners and staff are very friendly and the music is great - especially if Paolo's playing! Be sure to check out the House of Sizzle next door for a great dinner!
