A noticeable aspect of this restaurant is what is missing from the menu: pasta! This gives patrons a chance to experience lesser known but equally delicious native dishes such as polenta, minestrone, and soufflé of potatoes. Located in the historic Palazzo Santa Croce, a trendy crowd can be found here listening intently to the waiters, who pull up a chair to describe the daily specials. Reservations required. Business dress.

This restaurant, one of the most famous in Florence, is also one of the most hated by people from Florence! It is small, it is impossible to get your table, even if you book it many days before your dinner, it is too expensive and not very "particular"... it is one of those restaurants that we consider "made for tourists"...

A contrarian note about a much-reviewed Mecca in Florence. We had one of the worst experiences we've ever had dining out - not because of the food (which was extraordinary) or the service (which was attentive and gracious) but because of the imperiousness of the owner, who was obnoxious to the point of rudeness. He ruined an otherwise delicious meal.
