The prime location near the Uffizi makes this a great stop during a day of sightseeing. "Buca" means "hole in the wall" it Italian, but that's an exaggeration. This restaurant may be small and in a cellar, but this is certainly no hole in the wall. Always crowded. The traditional Tuscan cuisine includes roast pork loin with potatoes and a mix of egg and spinach fettuccine with a beefy mushroom sauce. Remember though that they don't take plastic. Reservations recommended. Casual dress.

A Gem Near The Uffizi
We had to ask for directions twice to get here (it's tucked away) but totally worth it! We walked into a restaurant filled with locals (always a good sign).
I haven't seen anyone mention online what was - by far - my favorite dish in Florence. Their Pappardelle with Rabbit Ragu was so outstanding, we were tempted to order another portion (but, not wanting to look like 'The Ugly Americans', we didn't!) Everything here was incredible - highly recommend this place!

We had dinner, not lunch here and the food was fantastic. They were quick, efficient and super friendly. We had a two year old with us and everything was so smooth and easy. The have a small selection of pastas and more traditional meat selections (like t-bones so big they are for more than one, so juicy!) with fabulous fresh made deserts.
